News of the clash with the masses in Banten Ahmadiyya cause a sense of curiosity for many people who do not know about the Ahmadis, at least a little about the history of Ahmadiyah.
Questioned why Ahmadiyya in Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam. If in Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam has been banned, what about Indonesia?
To just know this is part of why the Ahmadiyya cause problems for Muslims. Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat was founded by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (1835-1908) in 1889 in a small village called Qadian, Punjab, India. Mirza Ghulam Ahmad claimed to be Mujaddid, al Masih and al Mahdi.
Ahmadiyah Indonesia is part of the International Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. In Indonesia, the organization has been incorporated by the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Indonesia since 1953 (Decree of the Minister of Justice Decree no. JA 5/23/13 Date. 13-3-1953)
There are two groups of Ahmadiyya. Both believe that Mirza Ghulam Ahmad is Isa al Masih who had been promised the Prophet Muhammad. However, two groups have different principles:
3. Ahmadiyah Qadian, in Indonesia known as Ahmadiyah Indonesia (based in Bogor), a group who believe that Mirza Ghulam Ahmad was an mujaddid (reformer) and a prophet who did not bring new Shari’a.
4. Lahore Ahmadiyya, in Indonesia known as the Indonesian Ahmadiyya Movement (based in Yogyakarta). In general, this group did not consider Mirza Ghulam Ahmad as a prophet, but merely mujaddid of Islamic teachings
The problem in Indonesia is the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) has set the Ahmadiyah heretical since 1980, and reaffirmed the MUI fatwa issued in 2005. On behalf of the Government of Indonesia, Minister of Religious Affairs, Minister of the Interior and the Attorney General on June 9, 2008 has issued a Joint Decree, which ordered the Ahmadiyah followers to stop activities that are contrary to Islam.
According to the general point of view of Muslims, the Ahmadiyya teachings (Qadian) is considered to deviate from the true teachings of Islam because it recognizes Mirza Ghulam Ahmad as a prophet of Isa al Masih and the Imam Mahdi, contrary to general views of Muslims who believe the Prophet Muhammad as the last prophet, although also believe the coming of Isa al Masih and the Imam Mahdi when he saw (Isa al Masih and Imam Mahdi will be the people of Prophet Muhammad SAW)
Differences with the Ahmadiyya Muslims in general is that the Ahmadiyya believe that Isa al Masih and Imam Mahdi has come into this world as it has been dinubuwwatkan Prophet Muhammad. But Muslims generally believe that ‘Isa al Masih and Imam Mahdi has not come down to earth.
Hopefully there is no benefit, so that we can conclude whether the Ahmadis in Indonesia deserved or not. We await the government assertiveness whether Ahmadis would be dissolved or left.
